2024.07.12. The Fair Economy — Sound solutions company Sennheiser announced on the 11th that it is launching its first video conference product, the 'TC Bar (TeamConnect Bar),' at a press briefing held at The Westin Josun Seoul in Jung-gu, Seoul.

According to Sennheiser, communication environments such as remote work, hybrid work, and video conferencing have rapidly become established in companies, schools, and institutions since the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, Sennheiser has been strengthening its lineup of business solutions designed to boost collaboration productivity, including the 'TCC 2' ceiling microphone for large meeting rooms and the 'TCC M' ceiling microphone for medium-sized meeting rooms.

The TC Bar is Sennheiser's first all-in-one product, incorporating both the camera and microphone required for video conferencing. It supports 4K UHD resolution and High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology to provide bright, clear image quality. It also features artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, including an 'Auto Framing' function that automatically recognizes attendees' faces and movements to detect their positions, and a 'Person Tiling' function that separates multiple participants into distinct layouts.

These functions operate based on Sennheiser's 'ePTZ' technology. A standard pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera captures objects by physically moving the lens to pan left and right, tilt up and down, and zoom in and out. In contrast, ePTZ virtually implements PTZ using a high-resolution camera without any physical lens movement.

The TC Bar's microphone utilizes 'Auto Beamforming Technology' to accurately track the speaker's voice, enabling smooth transitions between presenters and meeting participants. It also supports a noise control function that allows users to pre-set the level of noise suppression according to their preferences, enhancing meeting efficiency with clear audio quality even in rooms with background noise.

It features built-in 'Full-Range Stereo Speakers' that reproduce nearly all frequencies within the audible range and a DSP engine that automatically optimizes indoor acoustics, providing audio quality tailored to the surrounding environment.

The device can be easily installed via a plug-and-play method. It supports Dante, a standard audio networking solution, as well as an option for adding external cameras, allowing for flexible expansion depending on the meeting room environment.

It has established partnerships with global communication platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams to support stable systems.

The TC Bar is released in two models, 'TC Bar S' and 'TC Bar M,' depending on the size of the collaboration space and the number of people. The 'TC Bar S' is equipped with four microphones and two speakers, making it suitable for small meetings of up to seven people. The 'TC Bar M' is equipped with six microphones and four speakers, supporting meetings of up to 12 people.

It also features security functions designed to protect companies and institutions using the TC Bar from cyber threats such as hacking.

The TC Bar supports password-protected configurations and encrypted communications in accordance with industry-standard security requirements. It is compatible with TLS 1.2 and IEEE 802.1x network authentication. The included lens cap provides additional privacy protection.

Sennheiser said it plans to apply the latest information protection technologies and features to its solutions to keep pace with strengthening data protection and personal information protection laws and systems, as well as advanced information protection technologies and standards in South Korea and around the world.
