The Fair Economy — The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) announced on the 15th that it signed a business agreement with Gangneung–Wonju National University to foster future talent in key digital sectors and promote industry development. The signing ceremony took place at Gangneung–Wonju National University.
With the emergence of advanced digital technologies and the digitalization of daily life, the international community is facing various environmental changes, and the demand for professionals capable of developing policies and responding to issues in key digital sectors is increasing. Accordingly, KISA pursued this agreement to nurture future talent and promote industry development in the fields of internet governance, cybersecurity, information security, and personal information protection.
The two institutions will continue mutual cooperation on ongoing projects in each field. In particular, they plan to jointly research a next-generation expert training system in the field of internet governance, develop specialized textbooks, and operate curricula using these materials. In addition, KISA will systematically support university students who complete the training courses by providing opportunities to participate in the Asia-Pacific Regional Internet Governance Academy (APIGA) and international forums, among other activities, to strengthen their practical capabilities.
"The next generation is the main actor of the digital era and an essential foundation for our country's competitiveness in the international community," said Lee Sang-jung, head of KISA. "KISA will continue to seek effective ways to train next-generation experts in each digital field and spare no effort in providing support."
