2024.07.17. The Fair Economy — The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced on the 17th that benzo(a)pyrene was detected above the standard limit in 'Gosohago Jinhan Deulgireum' (rich and savory perilla oil) manufactured and sold by food manufacturing and processing company TUREBAN, prompting the city of Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, to suspend sales and order a recall of the product.

The recalled products are those marked with an expiry date of June 30, 2025.

The MFDS said it has taken measures to ensure Goyang City quickly recalls the product and urged consumers who purchased it to stop consumption and return it to the place of purchase.

Meanwhile, if you witness illegal food-related activities, you can report them by calling the food safety hotline (1399) or, for smartphone users, by using the mandatory food safety information app "Naesona".
