2024.07.18. The Fair Economy — Digital crime response specialist LAVARWAVE (CEO Kim Jun-yeop) announced on the 18th that it has built an in‑house victim‑specific personal data DB server with an upgraded information‑security architecture to prevent and protect the leakage of personal information of cam‑phishing victims.

According to LAVARWAVE, cyber attacks and hacking attempts targeting major domestic companies have been occurring continuously, resulting in large‑scale leaks of corporate secrets and customer data. LAVARWAVE says it has built a victim‑specific personal data DB security server, further strengthening protection of in‑house stored information alongside its solution to prevent the leakage of cam‑phishing victims’ personal data, and is fully prepared for the ever‑increasing cyber threats.

LAVARWAVE explained, "As new webcam phishing cases such as OneCloud, bunny19, Hide My Pic, and Secret Video continue to emerge, protecting victims has become more important. Among these, protecting victims' personal information must be the top priority. With the single goal of protecting webcam phishing victims' personal information, we have established and operate a dedicated personal information DB server with an upgraded information security structure."

The core of LAVARWAVE's newly established victim-dedicated server is the encryption of all personal information. All information stored and managed on the server is encrypted, so even if data is leaked externally, the information cannot be accessed. Additionally, periodic stability checks and backups are conducted to fundamentally block the possibility of data leaks or damage.

LAVARWAVE stated, "We promise to continue our relentless efforts to protect webcam phishing victims. We will lead the way in creating a 'safe world without digital crime' by developing technologies to respond to webcam phishing, as well as building various support systems for victim protection."
