2024.07.31. The Fair Economy — Neuromeka, a collaborative robot specialist, announced on the 31st that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Suncheon for the 'joint promotion of robot public projects and the establishment of a cooperation system.' ROBOCARE, Mindrow, Y-Dots, and the Future Convergence Education Institute also participated in the agreement, organized by Suncheon.

According to Neuromeka, the agreement aims to foster and activate Suncheon's robot industry. Its main contents include ensuring the smooth execution of the 2024 robot public project, cooperating on discovering and supporting new projects, exchanging robot technology, and cultivating local talent.

Prior to this agreement, Neuromeka had been carrying out Suncheon's '2024 Large-Scale Robot Convergence Demonstration Project' since June 2024, and the project is scheduled to proceed in two phases until December 2025. Through the project, Neuromeka plans to provide visitors to the Robot Education and Science Museum with diverse robot experience opportunities. The total budget for the project is 2.1 billion won.

The "2024 Large-Scale Robot Convergence Demonstration Project" is a citizen-experience demonstration project that will introduce various types of robots within the Robot Education Science Museum to provide career-exploration programs, and will help build familiarity between visitors and robots through food-tech applications using collaborative robots.

Through the robot convergence demonstration project, the Robot Education and Science Museum will introduce 'voice-teaching robots, technology-teaching robots, palletizing robots, ice cream robots, and guide robots' in Phase 1 (2024), and autonomous mobile robots, coffee robots, humanoid robots, and social robots in Phase 2 (2025).

Based on its long-accumulated fundamental robot technology, Neuromeka has continuously supplied collaborative robot-based automation solutions to various industrial fields such as manufacturing and food tech. It also quickly applies the latest technologies, such as technology teaching, voice teaching, and imitation learning, to allow users to use collaborative robots more easily. Leveraging this technological capability and know-how, Neuromeka plans to introduce robots to Suncheon and provide visitors with diverse robot experiences.

Park Jong-hun, CEO of Neuromeka, said, "Through participation in Suncheon's project, which is emerging as a high-tech industrial city, we expect to enhance visitors' understanding of collaborative robots at the Robot Education and Science Museum and expand their diverse robot experiences. Based on Neuromeka's robot technology accumulated over more than 10 years, we will continue to expand our business in the Honam region."

A Suncheon official said, "Suncheon is building a 'robot companion city' for everyone through various citizen-benefit policies that combine AI and robots. Through collaboration with various robot companies such as Neuromeka, we will grow into a high-tech industrial city."
