2024.07.31. The Fair Economy — Catenoid (CEO Kim Hyeong-seok), a Video Technology as a Service (VTaaS) company, announced on the 31st that its media asset management platform Loomex has obtained Level 1 Good Software (GS) certification from the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA).
According to Catenoid, the GS certification Loomex obtained is a national certification system that verifies software (SW) quality based on ISO international standards. Loomex received Level 1, the highest GS certification grade, after being recognized for its quality and technological capability across a total of nine evaluation categories, including functional suitability, performance efficiency, compatibility, usability, reliability and security.
Loomex is a platform that allows companies and institutions holding media assets to manage media content such as video, images and audio in line with their corporate work processes, and to distribute it across various channels including social media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook, as well as IPTV and OTT services. In response to the recent increase in media use in the public and corporate sectors, Catenoid has strengthened its competitiveness by diversifying its lineup into on-premise and software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings such as 'Loomex Package' and 'Loomex Public.' The product that obtained this GS certification is 'Loomex Package,' which is provided as an on-premise solution.
'Loomex Package,' a package solution for the public and corporate sectors, includes all the functions needed for media management, such as multimedia transcoding, VOD and live streaming, an HTML5 player, a web-based editor, and metadata management. Its modular structure also allows users to combine only the functions needed for their work processes to configure and deploy media services. It can be easily integrated with public institution and corporate business systems, and is provided as on-premise media software across various environments, including cloud, IDC and closed networks.
Catenoid plans to further expand its public and enterprise sector business following the acquisition of the GS certification Grade 1 for Loomex. Various institutional benefits, such as contract signing with the Public Procurement Service, registration on KONEPS, designation as a technology development product eligible for preferential purchase by public institutions, and designation as a priority adoption product for administrative and public information projects, will provide additional momentum for opening up public market channels.
Along with obtaining GS certification, Catenoid is also pursuing registration of Loomex on the Public Procurement Service's Digital Service Mall. The company expects that registering on the Digital Service Mall will help quickly expand its service in the public market and contribute to the digital transformation of public institutions. By the end of the year, it also plans to obtain Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP) certification for 'Loomex Public,' a public-sector-only SaaS service that served as the foundation for the development of Wonju-si's artificial intelligence (AI) studio.
Kim Hyeong-seok, CEO of Catenoid, said, "As video-related work in the public sector has recently increased, we have been expanding the Loomex lineup and focusing on enhancing its functions to improve work efficiency and ensure smooth integration with existing systems. With this GS certification recognizing Loomex's technical capabilities and excellent quality, we will expand the provision of media management solutions optimized for the public sector."
