The Fair Economy — The Public Procurement Service (Commissioner Lim Gi-geun) recently announced that it will announce competitive bidding for a total of 188 large projects worth 3.1282 trillion won (goods and services worth 1 billion won or more, construction worth 10 billion won or more) during the month of September.

Among these, new notices cover 139 projects worth 1.8521 trillion won, while carryover notices cover 49 projects worth 1.2761 trillion won.

For facility construction, it will place orders for 33 projects worth 1.2881 trillion won, including the 'Cheongju Jibuk B-1BL and Yeongdong Hwanggan Apartment Construction'; for goods, 32 projects worth 88.7 billion won, including the '2024 Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Improvement of Aging School Network'; and for services, 74 projects worth 475.3 billion won, including the 'Genome and Transcriptome Data Production and Basic Analysis Service for the National Integrated Bio Big Data Construction Project'.

The planned announcement volume for September is 3.1282 trillion won, down about 18.4% from August's 3.8328 trillion won. This is analyzed as a result of the completion of early execution in the first half and a decrease in orders for large construction and goods worth 100 billion won or more compared to August.

Looking at major construction awards, Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) will award the 'Cheongju Jibu B-1BL and Yeongdong Hwanggan Apartment Construction Project' worth 251 billion won.
