2024.07.07. The Fair Economy — The Korea Communications Agency (KCA), the Korea Broadcasting Media Engineering Society and the Korea Broadcasting Engineers Association (KOBETA) announced on the 5th that they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to train prospective workers in future broadcast technology fields.
The MOU was pursued to strengthen the future competitiveness of Korea's media industry by training prospective workers in broadcast technology, a field that relies heavily on foreign technology, so as to keep pace with technological evolution and help build an AI and digital media ecosystem.
Through the agreement, the KCA, the society and KOBETA plan to carry out ▲work-experience programs to train future broadcast technology personnel, ▲joint development and operation of educational curricula, ▲planning and development of joint projects to promote the broadcast media industry, and ▲exchange of broadcast media technology information and policy development projects.
Going forward, KOBETA will provide job opportunities at broadcasters where participants can gain hands-on work experience, the society will develop curricula and select outstanding students, and the KCA will support government projects that allow prospective broadcast workers to gain work experience.
The first work-experience project in the broadcast-specialized field, jointly carried out by the three partner organizations, will run for 10 weeks starting in July at KBS, YTN, the Buddhist Broadcasting System and other broadcasters, giving prospective broadcast workers a chance to experience future broadcast technology.
