2024.09.26. The Fair Economy — To overcome the low birthrate problem in our society, companies are each formulating and implementing measures to support employees with childbirth. Now, support is being expanded and strengthened not only for childbirth but also for marriage and childcare. Taihan Cable & Solution has also joined this movement.
Taihan Cable & Solution (CEO Song Jong-min) announced on the 26th that it held a ceremony at its Dangjin cable factory to deliver birth bonuses to employees who have given birth, as part of its strengthened family-friendly system designed to support every stage from marriage to childbirth and childcare.
This event was organized to commemorate the first employees to receive support since the introduction of the childbirth support fund system. Vice Chairman Song Jong-min and management attended and delivered congratulatory money to four employees who had children in September. An employee who gave birth to a fourth child received additional childcare supplies as a special gesture of congratulations. After the event, they also listened to employees' grievances and suggestions regarding balancing work and childcare, sharing opinions on improving the work environment.
Taihan Cable & Solution is expanding its customized welfare system according to life cycles, from marriage to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare. Following the expansion of the 'I-joheun Hoban Life' program of Hoban Group, to which Taihan Cable & Solution belongs, the company has also strengthened existing support policies, introduced new systems, and significantly increased the scale of support.
Employees who get married receive 1 million won in congratulatory money, and couples struggling with infertility who wish to have children can receive up to 3.9 million won in fertility treatment costs. During pregnancy, a prenatal trip package at a domestic resort is also provided to help expectant parents bond emotionally with the fetus.
Upon childbirth, employees receive a congratulatory bonus of 5 million won for the first child, 10 million won for the second, and 20 million won for the third and subsequent children. Paternity leave has also been expanded to 20 days so that male employees can spend time with their spouse and newborn. Additionally, the childcare leave period has been extended from the previous one year to a maximum of two years, creating an environment where children can be raised stably.
Park Seong-u, manager of the Production Planning Team, who received a 20 million won bonus for giving birth to his fourth child, said, "I am truly grateful that the company directly congratulated us on the birth of our precious child and even provided support for childcare." He added, "As various welfare systems are strengthened and support policies are expanded, Taihan Cable & Solution is becoming a better place to raise children, which makes me very happy as a member of the company."
Vice Chairman Song Jong-min, who personally conveyed congratulations to the employees, said, "We plan to continuously refine related systems to achieve a balance between work and family." He added, "Going forward, we will create a healthy, family-friendly corporate culture to contribute to overcoming the low birthrate crisis facing our society."
