This newspaper reported on June 24 in an article titled "[Exclusive] Gangneung Science & Industry Promotion Agency 'charges ahead' to contract despite 'substandard product proposal' suspicions" that the Gangneung Science & Industry Promotion Agency (the Foundation) awarded a high evaluation score and proceeded to contract for the "Metaverse Hub XR VP Studio Construction and Advancement Service" project, which was announced and launched in October last year, even though a substandard product was proposed.
In response, the Foundation stated, "The product proposed by Company T, which won the bid for the project, met or exceeded specifications in terms of compatibility, latest version, and quantity from the time of the proposal presentation evaluation." It added, "The proposal evaluation committee was composed of experts in broadcasting and communication technology, including XR specialists, and no evaluator raised an opinion regarding substandard specifications."
The Foundation also stated, "We cooperated to the greatest extent possible within the scope of public consent obtained from each company regarding the information requested by the reporter."
