2024.07.04. The Fair Economy — Yamaha Music Korea (CEO Mukuno Kensuke), a company specializing in musical instruments and audio equipment, announced on the 4th that it has launched four new loudspeaker models: the DHR12, CHR12, DHR15M, and CHR15M.

According to Yamaha Music Korea, the newly released DHR12 and CHR12 models are mid-size additions to the 10 and 15 model lineups of the company's representative DHR and CHR series. With the launch of these models, Yamaha now offers a wider range of loudspeaker options.

The DHR12 and CHR12 models feature a custom 12-inch woofer with a 2.5-inch voice coil and a precision 1.4-inch compression driver, and can be installed in various environments thanks to the Horn Rotate function. Both 12-inch models share the same dimensions of 359 x 578 x 340 mm (14.1" x 22.8" x 13.4").

In addition, the DHR15M and CHR15M series, also launched together, are stage monitor speakers that commonly use coaxial drivers, and both are sized at 642 x 369 x 505 mm (25.3" x 14.5" x 18.9"). In particular, they feature a 15-inch woofer with a 3-inch voice coil and a 1.75-inch HF driver, offering an extended frequency range of 50 Hz to 20 kHz. The CHR15M, in particular, covers 58 Hz to 20 kHz. This enhances low-frequency reproduction, making them ideal for drummers and bassists.

The DHR series provides a high output of 1000W through a built-in DSP and high-efficiency Class D amplifier, and the DHR15M model offers FIR tuning. For the CHR series, when used with Yamaha PX Series amplifiers, dedicated speaker presets are available, making tuning convenient and installation easy. Additionally, both the DHR and CHR series commonly feature rigging points, optional U-brackets, and the Horn Rotate function, allowing installation and use in various environments.

Kim Tae-min, head of the audio sales team at Yamaha Music Korea, said, "With the addition of new lineups to the DHR and CHR series, which have been consistently popular since their launch, we can now respond to diverse customer needs. The DHR and CHR series are suitable for various sound reinforcement (SR) environments such as live halls, clubs, sports facilities, auditoriums, and gymnasiums. The addition of the 12-inch models and the 15-inch floor monitor models expands consumer choice, enabling more efficient sound environments."
