2024.07.16. The Fair Economy — Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) said on the 16th that it signed a business agreement with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) at its headquarters conference room to develop and spread intelligent CCTV-based technology in the airport security sector.
Attending the signing ceremony were Bae Yeong-min, head of IIAC's Safety and Security Division, and Oh Jin-yeong, head of KISA's Information Security Industry Division, along with officials from both organizations.
The agreement aims to contribute to strengthening airport security and passenger safety by utilizing KISA's intelligent CCTV performance testing and certification system. The two organizations agreed to cooperate actively on developing performance evaluation items for intelligent CCTV in airport security and supporting related technologies, as well as supporting infrastructure for building training data for such CCTV systems.
Specifically, IIAC will provide infrastructure such as filming spaces for building training data at Incheon Airport, while KISA plans to develop intelligent CCTV performance certification for the airport security sector by building and providing training data suitable for airport environments, conducting performance evaluations, and offering technical support.
Intelligent CCTV is a system that uses AI to automatically analyze the movements and events of specific objects such as people and things, supporting human surveillance tasks. In particular, it can more reliably ensure the safety of airport users by quickly detecting and responding to abnormal behavior within the airport.
"Through this agreement, we expect to further strengthen Incheon Airport's security level by using intelligent CCTV with improved performance through AI analysis to handle various security and passenger safety events that occur at the airport, a multi-use facility," said Bae Yeong-min, head of IIAC's Safety and Security Division. "We will accelerate the digital transformation of security monitoring operations to advance toward a digital airport and strive to improve the performance of intelligent CCTV and promote certified products."
