2024.07.16. The Fair Economy — Igloo Corp. (CEO Lee Deuk-chun), an artificial intelligence (AI)-based security operations and analytics platform company, announced on the 16th that it signed a strategic partnership memorandum of understanding (MOU) with AI semiconductor startup Rebellions (CEO Park Seong-hyeon) on the 15th to commercialize AI security products and services.
According to Igloo Corp., the company has been advancing its AI-based security solutions and services since it began AI research and development in 2015. Last year, it demonstrated its leadership in AI security by unveiling 'AiR,' the country's first AI detection model service featuring its proprietary classification, explanation and generative AI technologies.
Rebellions is a leading domestic AI semiconductor company that has begun mass production this year of 'ATOM,' a neural processing unit (NPU) for data centers. Launched last year, ATOM achieved the country's first commercialization in data centers and is currently the only mass-produced product to support small language model (SLM) acceleration.
The MOU was signed to develop a business model for AI security products and services.
The two companies will develop an 'AI Security Assistant' system by combining Igloo Corp.'s AI detection model technology with Rebellions' AI semiconductor technology to enhance the efficiency, productivity and stability of security teams. Based on a cooperation framework built on their respective know-how and business capabilities, they will also accelerate joint marketing activities and new customer acquisition.
Igloo Corp. plans to focus on expanding and upgrading its AI security product and service lineup and broadening its AI business portfolio following the MOU. By applying its proprietary AI technology to all of its security solutions and services, it aims to help security organizations respond nimbly to advanced cyber threats that exploit AI. The company will also work to secure high-quality security data, a core component of security AI models, leveraging its know-how from analyzing more than 20 years of security data.
Lee Deuk-chun, CEO of Igloo, said, "As the use of generative AI increases across all industries, security threats exploiting it are also surging. To counter this, attack defense technologies using AI must be applied to organizations' security operations. Through the 'AI security assistant' system that combines the strengths of both companies, we will support all security organizations in further strengthening their cyber threat defense capabilities."
Park Seong-hyeon, CEO of Rebellions, said, "To reliably provide services using generative AI, optimized hardware is essential. Through this collaboration with Igloo, Rebellions will do its best in technical and business cooperation to ensure the 'AI security assistant' system operates more efficiently based on 'ATOM,' our AI semiconductor specialized for small language models."
