2024.07.18. The Fair Economy — Security-focused fabless chipmaker ICTK (CEO Lee Jeong-won) has moved to strengthen its global sales capabilities by recruiting prominent figures in the global security sector.

ICTK said on the 18th that it recently formally hired Joseph Gullo, former McAfee global director, and others as local executives (director level) dedicated to overseas sales.

According to ICTK, the newly hired executives are three in total: Director Gullo, Christopher Gori, former Senior Director of Product Management at Rambus, and Lubna Dajani, former Chair of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Systems Division.

Director Gullo, who majored in chemical engineering at the University of Michigan, earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and worked at GE and Rambus. Before joining ICTK, he served as Director of Global New Business at McAfee. He was the person who spearheaded the 'Secure Home Platform Voice Service Partnership' with Google and announced it on site at CES 2019. During his tenure at Rambus, he also generated 95% of the lighting business unit's annual revenue with just one technology licensing contract. Earlier, at GE, he closed a big deal to acquire GELcore's stake from Amcore for $100 million.

Director Gori, who was also at Rambus with Gullo, holds bachelor's and master's degrees in computer engineering from Stanford University. He later established his reputation as an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) and system-on-chip (SoC) design engineer at Cisco and McData. At Rambus' encryption research institute, he worked as a senior director and was regarded as a top expert in product management.

Director Dajani, who first connected with Korea in 2014 as head of overseas investment at Solacia (now Xecure), is known as a Korea enthusiast. After graduating from the City University of New York with a degree in computer information systems, she worked at several IT companies and served as Chair of the IEEE Systems Division, overseeing innovation tasks at major tech companies such as AT&T, Verizon, Nokia, and Microsoft.

Joo Beom-su, head of ICTK's business division, said, "All of them decided to join because they share ICTK's vision, so we were able to reduce the fixed cost burden of hiring by focusing thoroughly on performance-based pay. We expect this to greatly boost overseas sales along with the US subsidiary to be established within the year."
