2024.07.26. The Fair Economy — SNAPTAG (CEO Min Gyeong-ung), an invisible watermark company, announced on the 25th that it has signed a strategic patent alliance with smart pen company NeoLAB Convergence, document AI specialist ePapyrus Inc., and San Francisco-based document AI specialist ArtifexSoftware.

According to SNAPTAG, NeoLAB Convergence is a gateway company connecting the physical and digital worlds, holding more than 100 original technology patents in Korea, Japan, and the U.S. related to expressing and recognizing codes as dots on paper and screens. ePapyrus and ArtifexSoftware hold various domestic and international original technology patents related to document security and printing.

SNAPTAG has solidified an unrivaled position in the field of invisible watermark technology, and while leading the domestic invisible watermark market, it has faced various attempts at technology infringement. Through this agreement, the company has secured more than 160 related patents, including 70 domestic and over 90 overseas (including the U.S.), and stated that it will create a more stable business environment and strengthen protection of its technologies to preemptively block technology infringement and respond strongly to any infringement.

Through this agreement, the four companies will focus on actively protecting their technologies by exchanging technical information related to their patents and sharing usage rights. In addition, to prevent patent infringement damage and to resolve patent infringement issues if they arise, the four companies plan to prepare strategic joint countermeasures and respond actively. This agreement is expected to allow continued technological innovation while minimizing the risk of legal disputes.

Furthermore, this agreement is expected to go beyond mere patent protection, serving as an opportunity to gather each company's R&D capabilities to jointly develop innovative technology solutions, and the synergy of the four-company alliance is being closely watched. Through this, each company is expected to secure both flexibility and competitiveness to respond swiftly to market changes.
