Kwon Chil-seung and Park Ji-won and organized by Korea University's Legal Tech Center, will be held on the 22nd at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul.

According to the organizers, the hearing was prepared in connection with the enactment of the 'Legal Tech Promotion Act,' which would establish a legal basis for policies to promote legal tech services and related industries, with the aim of fostering coexistence between legal tech companies applying rapidly advancing generative artificial intelligence (AI) to the legal field and the legal community.

The hearing will be chaired by Lee Byeong-jun, professor at the Korea University School of Law and head of its Legal Tech Center, with a presentation by Jung Sin-dong, professor at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies School of Law, followed by a discussion involving Judge Kim Sin-yu, an advisory member of the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee; Seok Dong-hyeon, prosecutor at the Ministry of Justice's Legal Affairs Division; Lee Yeong-jin, head of the Legislation Data Innovation Team at the Ministry of Government Legislation; Jung Jae-gi, vice president of the Korean Bar Association; Lee Jeong-min, secretary-general of the Korea Venture Business Association; and Kim Yeo-seop, an attorney with the Legal Tech Industry Council.

Rep. Kwon Chil-seung emphasized, "Generative AI will bring major changes to the development of the legal tech field and to the protection of citizens' basic rights. The venture industry and the legal community must work together to devise ways of innovation and coexistence to navigate this change."

Rep. Park Ji-won said, "The standard for legislation is public sentiment. Enhancing the convenience of the people must be the top priority. I hope this hearing will spark active discussion on coexistence between the venture industry and the legal community regarding legal tech services."
