2024.08.20. The Fair Economy — Synapsoft (CEO Jeon Gyeong-heon) recently announced that its Synap Document Viewer has obtained Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP) certification from KISA.
CSAP is designed to address the security concerns public institutions have when adopting cloud services. Public agencies seeking to introduce cloud services are required to use only those that have passed this certification review.
According to Synapsoft, the company took part last year in the 'SaaS Development and Verification for Public Sector Use' project with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency (NIA), and had already obtained KACI and K-PaaS compatibility certification from the Cloud Service Quality Certification Committee and the Korea Cloud Industry Association (KAC).
With this CSAP certification, Synapsoft's service has been officially recognized for its safety and reliability for use by national and public institutions.
Synap Document Viewer is a service that allows users to securely view documents in various formats in a web browser without downloading them, minimizing the risks of information leakage and ransomware infection.
The service integrates with various internal and external systems, such as public institution cloud storage, email, and collaboration tools. It is built on a container-based server environment and microservices architecture (MSA) to flexibly handle user traffic, supporting an efficient multi-tenancy system.
Multi-tenancy is a software concept in which a single application instance provides services to multiple users.
Currently, Synap Document Viewer is adopted by major portal services such as Naver and Kakao, as well as the groupware systems of 17 large corporate groups. It serves more than 7,000 enterprise clients and over 85% of central government agencies and educational institutions.
Jeon Gyeong-heon, CEO of Synapsoft, emphasized, "Once we are registered in the digital service support system through this CSAP acquisition, we will be able to promote digital transformation for existing customers who have adopted the on-premises document viewer through catalog contracts, and for new adopting institutions, we will lower initial cost burdens and reduce operational and management burdens."
