2024.06.04. The Fair Economy — The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that it held the "2024 First-Half Disaster Safety Information Joint-Use Council" on the 4th to expand the joint use of disaster safety information.
As part of its effort to realize a "digital platform government," the Ministry of the Interior and Safety organizes and operates a "Disaster Safety Information Joint-Use Council," made up of about 40 members from related agencies and private-sector experts, to promote the collection, disclosure, management and joint use of various kinds of disaster safety information that are closely tied to public safety.
At this council meeting, participating agencies shared the progress of their respective data-building projects and discussed whether data could be linked and provided to one another.
First, the ministry shared its plans for integrating and linking public information services (tentatively named Safety 24) and the progress of the third phase of the disaster safety data sharing platform construction project. It also discussed whether disaster safety-related data held individually by each ministry could be linked and provided.
The Ministry of Science and ICT discussed ways to link data in fields such as industrial safety and road and living safety in order to carry out a project to strengthen the disaster safety management system based on artificial intelligence (AI) and the metaverse.
The Forest Service asked related ministries for cooperation in smoothly building the "Digital Integrated Slope Landslide Information System," which has been under construction since the 2011 Mount Umyeon landslide.
Kim Yong-gyun, director-general of the Safety Prevention Policy Office at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, "The ministry will continue to identify data needed by the public in the disaster safety field and promote sharing among relevant agencies to strengthen scientific, data-based disaster safety management."
