2024.07.01. The Fair Economy — The Public Procurement Service recently announced that it will expand the '2024 Second-Half Quality-Assured Procurement Items Training Program.'
The expansion of the training program is intended to strengthen support for acquiring comprehensive knowledge of the quality-assured procurement item designation system, thereby promoting quality improvement among small and medium-sized procurement companies.
The training is led by instructors including public officials in charge of quality-assured procurement items and quality management experts (reviewers). It provides quality management education for executives and employees of procurement firms, covering an introduction to the relevant system, quality improvement activities, and statistical quality control.
Originally, the training consisted of two in-person sessions and one online session; it has been expanded to a total of five sessions by adding two more online sessions.
Companies that complete the training will receive benefits such as up to 20 additional points in the quality-assured procurement item evaluation. CEOs (including representatives or presidents) receive 13 points, and executives and employees receive 7 points per person.
In-person training will be held twice at the Public Procurement Capability Development Institute in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, on August 12-13 and December 4-5, with 50 participants each session.
Online training will be conducted as real-time sessions via Zoom, held three times on September 11-12, October 30-31 and November 13-14, with 100 participants per session.
On the first day, topics will include the quality-assured procurement goods designation system, quality management systems and continuous improvement activities, and statistical process control. On the second day, topics will include production process and workplace management, equipment management and customer complaint handling, and performance indicators.
Applications will be accepted starting one month before each session begins, and how to apply can be found under notices on the Public Procurement Capability Development Institute website (https://hrd.pps.go.kr:8443/hrd/index.do).
If the enrollment capacity for a training course is met, applications for that course may close early.
Participants in the online training course will need an internet-connected PC, laptop, smartphone or tablet, and these devices must have a working speaker. Details such as the training course ID and password for online sessions will be sent separately via text message.
