2024.07.12. The Fair Economy — WISEnut (CEO Kang Yong-seong), an artificial intelligence (AI) specialist company, announced recently that it participated in the 2nd Segye Hanin Gwahak Gisul In Daehoe (World Congress of Korean Scientists & Engineers), held for three days from the 9th to the 11th at the Korea Science and Technology Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where it introduced its proprietary retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)-based generative AI solution's core technology and demonstration cases to about 2,000 Korean scientists and engineers from around the world.

Now in its second year, the World Congress of Korean Scientists & Engineers invites Korean scientists and engineers active around the globe back to Korea to explore the future direction of science and technology innovation and to share research achievements. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies and the Association of Korean Scientists and Engineers Abroad.

Notably, the event was established following a proposal by President Yoon Suk-yeol last year to create a venue for domestic and international scientists and engineers to exchange research outcomes. This year, attendees included Minister Lee Jong-ho of the Ministry of Science and ICT, Chairman Lee Tae-sik of the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies, and other prominent figures from various sectors.

According to WISEnut, the company participated as a leading AI company at the event, operating an exhibition booth that showcased its proprietary AI technologies, including the optimized generative AI solution WISE iRAG, which can be introduced to facilitate successful business activation.

At the booth, WISEnut introduced the natural language processing technologies it has built up over 24 years as well as its recently unveiled RAG-based generative AI solution, WISE iRAG, and provided detailed explanations of case studies across industries such as the public sector, manufacturing, law, finance and semiconductors.

"The strong interest shown by the diverse global scientists and engineers who visited our booth in our natural language processing and generative AI technologies gave us confidence that WISEnut has been on the right track by actively investing and consistently continuing AI-related research and development," said Kang Yong-seong, CEO of WISEnut. "Going forward, WISEnut will actively conduct research on generative AI and continuously pursue related businesses to secure global AI industry competitiveness beyond the domestic market."

WISEnut has submitted AI papers to leading institutions covering natural language processing and AI technology competitiveness both in Korea and abroad, including the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and the Conference on Human and Cognitive Language Technology (HCLT), winning first place and the best paper award respectively, earning recognition as a company with strong AI technology capabilities.
