2024.08.12. The Fair Economy — Tmax CoreAI, the artificial intelligence (AI) specialist company of Tmax Group, recently announced that Army officials visited the Tmax Group office in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, to attend a demonstration of the 'Army Regulations Training Chatbot (HyperChatbot)'.

According to Tmax CoreAI, 'HyperChatbot' is an Army-specific regulations chatbot created by Tmax CoreAI, which is responsible for the AI technology of Tmax Group, a leading domestic IT original technology company, in partnership with the Civil-Military Cooperation Promotion Institute of the Agency for Defense Development.

At the demonstration, Army officials sat at PCs and directly asked questions that military officers and soldiers might have in their daily lives.

When a military official typed "Inquiry about troop escort travel expenses," HyperChatbot immediately responded, "This is a question about the eligibility for troop escort travel expenses," and explained the relevant regulations.

When another official asked, "Please tell me the responsible departments for each discharge type and work area for standby reserve forces," HyperChatbot answered with an image containing a related table instead of text.

In particular, HyperChatbot is equipped with a system based on database (DB) learning and a 'speech-to-text (STT)' function. Accordingly, when a military official asked a question by voice, it also demonstrated answering directly by voice.

Tmax Group plans to provide the core technology of HyperChatbot to the Army in the future. HyperChatbot was developed as part of the 'joint investment civil-military technology application research project' by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration.

HyperChatbot incorporates functions that can be set to sentence type, regulation original text type, step type, and more. In addition, using the administrator studio, it analyzes user statistics and provides a function to identify where soldiers' questions are concentrated and to convert this into data for use as needed.

Kim Jae-hwan, CEO of Tmax CoreAI, said, "HyperChatbot is designed to easily handle structured documents, laws, school regulations, rules, and the like. Based on HyperChatbot to be provided to the Army, we will also introduce an upgraded version chatbot 'A-Talk' for adoption in various fields."

The Army has designated this year as the first year of AI adoption. To this end, it established the Army AI Center in February. The Army plans to extend AI adoption for 'military innovation' to the advancement of barracks life as well.

A military official said, "The introduction of AI for advanced military innovation should also extend to barracks life. Going forward, we will be able to see AI being used to provide convenience in barracks living quarters as well."
