The Fair Economy — About 2,540 people submitted about 4,310 works to the 13th Korea-Japan Photo Contest, and the co-organizers, sponsors, and supporters selected 21 winners after screening. The winning works will be exhibited sequentially at the international terminal of Gimpo International Airport and the Sowol Exhibition Hall of the Seongdong Foundation for Arts and Culture, and winners will receive certificates and prizes at the awards ceremony.

The Public Information and Cultural Center of the Embassy of Japan in Korea announced the winners of the Korea-Japan Photo Contest on the 2nd.

Under the theme 'The Charm of Korea and Japan,' the contest has been held annually since 2014 to promote cultural and human exchanges between the two countries and to boost tourism, marking its 13th edition this year.

It was co-hosted with Nagasaki Prefecture, Ehime Prefecture and the Seongdong Culture Foundation, with entries accepted from July 1 to Aug. 31. The awards ceremony and networking event will be held at the Public Information and Cultural Center's multipurpose hall starting at 2 p.m. on Dec. 11. Officials from each organization will attend, and time will be set aside for winners and officials to interact.

The winning works exhibition will run for about a month, from Dec. 19 to Jan. 17, 2027, at Gimpo International Airport's international terminal. It will then move to the Sowol Exhibition Hall of the Seongdong Culture Foundation from Jan. 18 to Feb. 5. The Sowol Exhibition Hall is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Sundays, except that it will open from 1 p.m. on Jan. 18 and close at 4 p.m. on Feb. 5.

Sponsors include the General Incorporated Foundation Sanin Inbound Organization, Shizuoka Prefecture, Aomori Prefecture, Tokushima Prefecture and the SEOUL TOURISM ORGANIZATION. Supporters include Epson Korea, Korea Airports Corporation and Japan Airlines.

The Seongdong Culture Foundation exchanged a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with the Public Information and Cultural Center on Oct. 27, 2025, to activate cultural and artistic exchange between Korea and Japan. At the time, the two institutions announced they would co-host an exhibition of Korea-Japan Photo Contest winners this year as well. They agreed to plan and operate cultural and artistic exchange programs, share information and resources related to smart culture cities, and pursue collaborative projects for the development of Korean and Japanese culture.
